Job Description
Role Purpose
ROLE Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital is recruiting a Sports Medicine Physician in Qatar. RESPONSIBILITIES Diagnose sports injuries and medical conditions; interpret imaging and laboratory tests; counsel athletes on rehabilitation, nutrition and anti-doping; prescribe exercise and assess return to play; cover events and emergencies; maintain records, teach trainees and contribute to research.
Main Activities
REQUIREMENTS Recognized basic medical degree such as MBBS; sports-medicine specialization expected, with accredited postgraduate training prioritized. Applicants from countries without a recognized sports-medicine specialty undergo individual assessment of training, qualifications and clinical experience.
In addition, employer specifies 12–15 years overall including at least five clinical sports-medicine years, preferably in similar industry; expertise with acute/overuse injuries, pre-competition assessment and elite/recreational athletes; local licensing eligibility; administrative competence and evidence-based practice; willingness to work shifts and a 24-hour callback rota when required.
